1 out of 5 eggsWatch Out 20 pin not 24!!

Pros: Was not DOA!
Good Packaging

Cons: This Power Supply Is NOT a 24 pin it is a 20 pin without the extra 4 pins altogether so any application that requires 24 pins (EVERYTHING AFTER THE YEAR 2002 PRETTY MUCH)
needs a different power supply than what this resurrected antique has to offer.

Other Thoughts: I feel stupid for buying this I was so desperate to get my hands on non DOA parts that i overlooked the exact specifications of this model. good power supply if you want to fire up that dead windows 98 tower you've had in the basement for years.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay, not good or bad.

Pros: Well, it DOES come with a P6 or AT-style power connector for those of you building retro-PC's that would need such, in addition to a 20-pin ATX connector. It has ONE SATA connector so you can use a more modern drive/CD. P4 power connector, good cable lengths, temperature controlled fan. The fan actually has a wire grille. Most low-cost PSU's have a grille that was "stamped" out of the casing.

Cons: AT style power connector, great if you need it but if you don't, it's in the way. I removed the cover of mine (which voided warranty) and snipped it out. Only ONE fan, and it blows in the WRONG direction....OUT! If you want to use this to mount on a newer case with a bottom mount PSU, then you need to spin the fan. I did this at the same time I had to open the case to snip the AT connector....which, as I said, voids the warranty. The fan is also a sleeve bearing, which is fine for casual use, but don't expect the fan to last as long as the PSU it probably replaced. Not flashy, industrial gray case, which doesn't bother me but if you like the sleek, slick, overhaulin''s not here.

Other Thoughts: It's just OK. Had I known, I would not have purchased it. I found a much better 680W one on an auction site for less. It works in a pinch, though, luckily for me, I have a computer repair business so this will just wind up going into some customer computer since it doesn't really suit my purpose. There was a time when I couldn't find an ATX PSU with the extra P6 connector to save my life. Now all of the spare PSU's in my inventory have one. Who'd a thunk it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, many connections. Fits into older Gateway 500 series tower without mods. screw holes line up, very easy switch.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have an old Gateway 500 tower that had a solid amber/orange power light and would not boot up. Replaced the original power source (185 Watts) with this one and all works well again. It fit perfectly, no modifications needed.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it is supposed to do

Pros: Works like it should. Decent materials used for the price. I certainly have felt and dealt with cheaper power supplies.

Cons: Installed this at a customer's site. The noise, yes, it wasn't the most quiet power supply that I have used, but the customer was happy that the computer came back to life.

Other Thoughts: If you are annoyed by ANY constant noise coming from your computer, then this is not the whisper quiet power supply that you're looking for; otherwise it fits the bill and does the job.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great & inexpensive

Pros: Compatibility, inexpensive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought to of these to replace power supplies that went bad in two identical Acer machines and both worked flawlessly. It was a snug fit in the case but I eventually got them in and all is good.

On another note NewEgg Rocks! I ordered these on Monday 7/27, no rush processing with standard shipping and received them on 7/28!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Good PS

Cons: When installing the PS you might have to modify the case a little to receive the PS. The plastic receiver for the power cord is larger than some older models that you might replace it with and will catch on the edge of some cases (Compaq and HP 5000 & 6000), however its only about 1/4" so you can clip the edge so it will seat in the case. It’s a minor adjustment with a case cutting tool or wire snips.

5 out of 5 eggs6 years and still going strong!

Pros: I've been using this power supply for 6 years now, mainly 24/7/365 that entire time. Very reliable, extremely quiet.

Cons: 300 watts was a lot back when I first got this, not so much today. However for an older machine, it makes a great replacement at a very good price. Also beware the mobo connectors is only 20 pin, not 24 pin.

4 out of 5 eggsNot flashy; works effectively

Pros: 300 watts of power. Plenty of connectors. This is a fairly quiet PSU, even when it is outside the case (see below). Single 12V rail.

Cons: Only 300 watts. Only one SATA connector (this can easily be fixed with Molex-to-SATA converter).

Other Thoughts: I have a Shuttle XPC system with a 240 watt power supply (20 pin, 4 pin) that just died. I'm also in the process of getting a new PC, but I needed a temporary power supply to power up the PC and backup all my data and use the PC for the next couple of weeks. So, this PSU is sitting on my desk with the cords coursing into the Shuttle case. It has worked effectively keeping the PC powered up without glitches for the past few days.
