5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal!

Pros: Lots of power in a light weight drill around the house. It work just fine on a work site for run-of-the-mill tasks. It also has an LED spotlight, which is not necessary, but pretty handy.

Cons: No case comes with it, but for $10 you can buy a tool bag that works just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsOutlasted a 2 year old

Pros: Haven't had a problem using this drill for it's intended use around the house and it also works as a great, long lasting entertainment for the little ones running around.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsPoor chuck quality

Pros: It is a usable drill for the price, but quality is definitely sacrificed.

Cons: The chuck for this drill is very, very poor and very frustrating. So poor, in fact, that I wrote the company to complain. The chuck does not grip drill bits well at all. I tried three different bits (ranging from 1/8" to 3/8") in the last two days and each one got stuck in the wood as the Black and Decker chuck slipped around it. In my vain attempt to extract the bit with the Black and Decker, I managed to snap off the 1/8" bit. Thanks. I had to extract the bits with vise-grips. ALSO, the chuck is hard to grip. The grey, plastic collar has shallow, slippery ridges, which make it hard to grip well. I had a phillips-head bit in it and was unable to loosen the chuck (which is funny, since it wouldn't grip drill bits well) without the aid of straight-jaw pliars, which has now put big, ugly gashes all over the chuck, and will eventually strip it bare. The battery also takes 2 hours to charge (vs. 20 minutes with the Makita Lithium Ion drill). This drill also only comes with one battery, which is troublesome due to the charge time.

Other Thoughts: Given the option, invest in a DeWalt or Makita--seriously they are worth the extra money. Don't buy this drill if you can. Black and Decker products in my experience are low-grade copies of good tools. They are also made in China. Glad this drill was a gift.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drill

Pros: Light weight, solid, and compact.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a great all purpose drill for any small house projects. It comes in real handy when mounting items which takes no time now compared to using plain human power.

5 out of 5 eggsBlack & Decker LB20

Pros: Lots of power, light weight, and the battery keeps charged for long times. This is a great drill for the home owners that does not do large projects. I used it to assembly a desk, hanging coat rack, ect, and it works great.

Cons: Only one speed.

Other Thoughts: Would have liked an option on second battery.

4 out of 5 eggsDeceptive Advertising

Pros: Very light and compact, making it easy to use overhead. The LED is handy for working in dark corners. It seems to have plenty of power for most home applications, and the price was right.

Cons: The clutch slips very easily even on 10.

The main problem, and the reason for only 4 eggs is not because of the drill, it works fine even with the slippy clutch, the problem is with the advertising, Newegg clearly states in their ad that the drill comes with the higher capacity battery, I also looked on Black & Decker's website and I couldn't find anything that says the smaller battery was used. Not until the drill arrived did I know that it comes with the smaller battery, it was in small print on the back of the box.

Other Thoughts: The drill works fine and deserves 5 stars even with the weak clutch. I took off 1 egg for the deceptive advertising.

4 out of 5 eggsNice compact drill

Pros: Drill w/ battery weighs less than a 18v Dewalt battery pack alone (my Work equipment). Very nicely balanced and compact, surprisingly small actually. Small LED is quite bright and useful. Battery charger has small hole which makes it wall mountable (At least that's what I did with mine, very convient to have batteries charging in one location & out of the way).

Cons: As said previously, almost useless clutch. On "1" you can stop the chuck with one finger using light pressure and on "10" you can stop it with one finger and thumb. Either it should allow more torque to be applied or there should be a way to adjust the range to make it more useful. Also, since it only has a single range variable speed, it's limited to 650 rpm max; pretty good for around the home, but maybe not enough speed for more serious/professional work.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this (and have), the battery lasts a long time and when the clutch is set to the "drill" setting, provides a lot of torque for such a compact package.

3 out of 5 eggsCome with LB20 battery and not LBX20 battery !!!

Pros: Drill is light and looks good! I haven't used it yet but I give it 5 eggs for now.

Cons: It comes with a LB20 battery rated at 22Wh and not a higher capacity battery LBX20 that is rated at 30Wh ! I give it one egg for the wrong (or unclear) description!

Other Thoughts: I just received the drill. I have other B&D 20V cordless tools and I was counting on getting a higher capacity battery (LBX20) as specified in the description (both here and at B&D website) of this package (LDX120C). But I am little disappointed to get a LB20 battery instead.

4 out of 5 eggsLight and powerful

Pros: Lots of power in a very light package. I was surprised how small the actual drill is. Then I tore a 3/4" spade bit through a double 2x6 floor joist with no apparent bogging down. Variable speed trigger is easy to operate and control the speed.

Cons: I took away 1 egg for this. The torque clutch has 10 settings, and none of them really work for practical purposes. I mounted an electric baseboard heater using anchors and screws. Even though all the holes lined up perfectly, I could not tighten the screws with setting 10, and ended up turning it to the drill position and used that, which as you might expect, stripped the screw heads, despite using a slow speed.

Other Thoughts: Although not very effective as a screwdriver, it works well as a drill, so overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to a friend.
